Aoife Drury
Too often we see messages that intercourse and/or orgasms are the pinnacles of sexual fulfilment. This is far from the truth – enjoyment can be had in so many more ways.
We collaborated with Aoife on ‘Attachment Styles’ and ‘Self-Compassion’. Listen on the App.
Aoife is an accredited Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist with over 12 years of experience working in mental health.
What type of clients do you work with?
I work with both individuals and couples. It’s all about supporting them to become comfortable in their relationships, sexualities and exploring what is meaningful for them.
People come to me with various different challenges. For example, they may be survivors of abuse, experiencing erectile dysfunction, navigating low libido, or managing vaginismus (to name a few!).
Why do you do what you do?
Working in my job gives me so much happiness. I love being able to support people through difficult times and help them uncover a part of their sexual selves.
What is one thing you would like people to know about sex?
One thing I would love people to know is that sex is whatever you make it and want it to be. Too often we see messages that intercourse and/or orgasms are the pinnacles of sexual fulfilment. This is far from the truth – enjoyment can be had in so many more ways!
